Team Ultimate 4x4 (Barrie Drenth & Brendon Gird) had another consistent day at the Maxxis SA National 4XTR at Malonjeni Country Lodge in the Midvaal area on Saturday and ended the day with a respectable 4th position in the highly competitive Modified Class.
Team Kobra (Arno Drenth & Koos Zietsman) had a less satisfactory day and had to settle for 7th position. We broke the rear prop shaft twice which cost us plenty points and we made some unforced errors which added to the misery.
We did learn a lot about Kobra in his latest reincarnation and it is great to report that the steering and brakes are vastly improved from earlier in the season. New suspension modifications also proved to be a positive step, now we must learn what Kobra is really capable of and drive him to his potential, that is the only way we will move up the leader board as intended.
Thanks to all our friends and supporters for sticking with us, we trust that this was the turning point!
There are some great action pictures here thanks to my son Jimmy and also a short action filled video here thanks to my wife Sanette and daughter-in-law-to-be Joanelle, this is still very much a family affair!
